about me!

hi! my name is kris and i'm 29 years old. i grew up on the old internet, playing neopets, chatting on aim, watching flash videos on albino black sheep or ebaum's world. there seemed to be hundreds of things to do and places to explore online. every time i sat down at the computer it was a new adventure, a new quest to find fun things. as time went on i made a facebook, tumblr, twitter. those days were fun too, but every year the internet i knew and loved was getting further and further away. fast forward to 2025 and things like tiktok, musk's twitter, instagram reels, are taking away all of our attention. the internet is no longer a place of fun and exploration-- it's an endless cycle of a few quick bursts of fun amongst grueling attention seeking slop, and you endlessly scroll hoping for one more burst of serotonin. there's only a few big sites everyone is on, and these sites are owned by a few billionaires who only want to collect and sell your information. they don't care about creativity, discovery, self expression. they just want to suck you in.

a few weeks ago, i came across a video by LuvstarKei sharing some cool personal websites people have made, and the world of the indieweb and personal websites suddenly opened up to me. I'm so happy that there's a community of people here dedicated to having fun online, and bringing back the feelings of discovery and adventure when browsing around the internet. it gives me hope that we can bring back the fun times we've had in the old days, and teach people that it's possible for the internet to be a positive, inspiring space.

my site, right now, is majorly under construction, but eventually i'd like it to be a collection of all of my favorite things whether it be music, crafts, camping, art, my cat; everything! this is my little home on the internet, and i want to create something that gives people a glimpse into my world, that will hopefully bring them some joy to look at and explore!
